Information Technology Association (TITA) held its
annual general meeting recently to initiate newly elected team
members on board. The meeting was presided by S Prakash, President
and B Kuberan, Secretary, Confed
ITA. The association is planning to
conduct its second IT expo this year Pratheesh Mathew, Secretary,
TITA recalled, “Our first expo was a resounding success and we hope
to repeat the same this year too. The expo will be bigger and
better.”
TITA has around 120 members of which
100 were present at the meeting. After a unanimous decision, the
board announced and explained its vision plan for 2010. Confed's
President S Prakash conferred the association with an award called
'Best association in Tamil Nadu'. All ex office bearers, sponsors and
current members were awarded with certificates and mementos.
TITA has fixed a service rate, which
will be standard across Tirupur and all associated members will have
to follow this in future. When asked for the reason, Mathew said, “It
is in the best interest of both the dealer and customer. There will
be no confusion amongst the dealers with regards to service charges
at least. Only after consulting our members, we decided to fix the
rate to this. This decision has been printed in our local daily
newspaper too.”
The association also distributed
membership certificates and ID cards to all its members so that they
can display them at their respective shops. Mathew said that this
decision will help customers recognize genuine dealers. Prakash
applauded the association for its member-friendly activities. He
wished that all the associations take cue from them and implement the
same in their cities.
The event was sponsored by Toshiba and
HP and co-sponsored by Numeric Systems.
